2012 Summer College Preparatory Academy in Fremont, California
Taleem Initiative mentored 20 high school students from Fremont in an eight-week, high-impact college preparation program entailing:
1.
Over 50-hours of in-class instruction on SAT math, verbal, and writing. Curriculum was based on the College Board’s official study guide for the SAT.
2.
Exposure to careers in engineering, medicine, law, journalism, venture capital, computer science and academia.
3.
Guidance and mentorship from college students and alumni from Stanford University, Harvard, UC Berkeley, and UCLA.
4.
College tour of the UC Berkeley campus.
5.
Overview of the college admissions process and strategies to prepare a competitive college application.
6.
Post-program mentorship, including assistance with selecting coursework and finding extracurricular activities.
